Kronenberger, Louis

   American critic and writer. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, he studied at the University of Cincinnati. He initially worked for the New York Times, and subse-quently was an editor with Boni and Liveright. From 1933 to 1938 he was an editor for Alfred A. Knopf. From 1938 to 1961 he was the drama critic for Time. His works include The Thread of Laughter: Chapters on English Stage Comedy from Jonson to Maugham, The Grand Manner, Grand Right and Left, A Month of Sundays, Marlborough's Duchess: A Study in Worldliness and Oscar Wilde.
